The SUMHAL project aims to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity in the Western Mediterranean hotspot through the use of high-tech infrastructure and collaboration between researchers and the general public. The aim of WP9 is to produce useful information to address the conservation of plant diversity in the Baetic Mountains, with three main focuses: 1) evolution of plant diversity in the region (LWE2103033), 2) current situation of plant diversity in the region (LWE2103034), and 3) prospective approach (LWE2103035). The checklist presented satisfies objective 3, in section 9.3.1 (Status of endemic species), which in turn consists of three tasks: 1) List of Andalusian endemisms, Information for each taxon endemic, and 3) Book on Andalusian endemisms.

This information was reviewed, compiled, and taxonomically assessed between 2021 and 2023 (see Temporal coverage section). Therefore, taxa described after the publication date of the book by Martínez-Sagarra & Devesa (2023) have not been included in this checklist. |
