Description

This dataset provides presence records of Arvicola sapidus (Southern water vole) across the Iberian Peninsula (Spain), with a particular concentration in Andalusia and additional records in Castilla y León and the province of Badajoz.Records were obtained through active field serch. Most observations are based on indirect evidence, primarily pellets, complemented by other signs such as colonies signs, feeding signs, latrines and direct sightings of individuals.Data were collected between 2011 and 2023 during opportunistically and targeted monitorings. Species identification was based on morphological criteria and field signs in riparian habitats typical of the species.Occurrence Status.Presence data only (no absence or abundance information).
