Description

Georreferenced world database of species of the ostracod family Entocytheridae, based on published information.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 3,509 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods

Data obtained from published and unpublished scientific literature or own data. Samples of Entocytheridae obtained by collecting their hosts (crayfish and other crustaceans) by hand or traps, etc. and filtering the fixative (ethanol, formalin) or medium (carbonated water, habitat water) where the hosts were stored.

Study Extent Global published information on the presence of living individuals of the Family Entocytheridae.

Method step description:

  1. Search the literature databases, find original sources citing the presence of an Entocytheridae anywhere in the world. Note the species cited and the location. Find the (aprox.) coordinates for the location.
