Description
La colección está constituida por pieles, cráneos y esqueletos de 1323 ejemplares que proceden de la población cautiva que se mantiene desde el año 1971 en la Finca Experimental “La Hoya”, dentro del Programa de Cría en Cautividad de Ungulados Norteafricanos en Peligro de Extinción. Aunque la mayoría de los ejemplares han nacido y vivido en cautividad, también se conservan los ejemplares fundadores de esta población cautiva, cuyo origen es el Sahara Occidental. De la totalidad de los ejemplares se tiene también registrado su historial genealógico y edad. Las especies que forman parte de la colección son: Ammotragus lervia fassini, Ammotragus lervia sahariensis, Gazella cuvieri, Gazella dorcas neglecta y Gazella dama mhorr.
