Description
We provide a database on the distribution of Ibero-Balearic arthropods (the IberArthro database) belonging to 10 taxonomic groups: Coleoptera (Aquatic), Coleoptera (Scarabaeoidea), Collembola, Hymenoptera (Apoidea), Lepidoptera (Noctuoidea), Lepidoptera (Papilionoidea), Neuropterida, Opiliones, Plecoptera and Trichoptera. The database contains 1,006,768 records with associated geographic data (at 10 × 10 km grid squares), compiled from various sources and validated by specialists in each group.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,006,768 records.
1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Taxonomic Coverage
The database has 10 differentiated taxonomic groups of arthropods. Currently we have different kinds of insects and arachnids grouped as follows: Coleoptera (Aquatic); Coleóptera, Scarabaeoidea; Collembola; Hymenoptera, Apoidea; Lepidoptera, Noctuoidea; Lepidoptera, Papilionoidea; Neuropterida; Opiliones; Plecoptera; Trichoptera. In the column ‘remarksTaxon’ of this database it is possible to filter by the mentioned groups. The suborder Neuropterida includes the orders Raphidioptera, Megaloptera and Neuroptera. Aquatics beetles include species from the suborders Adephaga, Polyphaga and Myxophaga. Scarabaidae coleoptera refer to coprophilous beetles or dung beetles.

Project Data
In the frame of the Digit_Artro project, a group of taxonomists and research entomologist and arachnologists, we compiled all available data on arthropod from different sources. Ten distributional databases of different taxonomic groups of arthropods from the Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands are amalgamated in a unique and homogeneous database.
