The data consist of records of individual birds captured by ringers from the Catalan Ornithological Institute (ICO) between 2003 and 2020 in which tick presence was checked and recorded.

The aim of the project was to predict bird life-history traits associated with the presence of ticks. Additionally, we evaluated whether citizen science observations could provide valuable parasitological information.

| Descrição do Design | The goal of the study was to identify the avian species with higher prevalence of ticks and determine the life-history traits associated to tick presence. Furthermore compare the tick prevalence found in this study by amateur ringers with other previous studies performed by trained entomologist analysing the incidence of ticks in birds, to detect the possible bias in tick detection using citizen science. |
