Description
El recuento de individuos invernantes se ha basado en la búsqueda e inventariación –durante el mes de diciembre- de dormideros activos, y en el recuento vespertino –en enero- de las aves que entraban a los mismos. En cuanto a la reproducción, se han visitado al menos en tres ocasiones todas las colonias y localidades de cría previamente conocidas, con el fin de revisar desde el exterior el número de nidos y, cuando ello ha sido posible, el número de pollos. También se han efectuado prospecciones extensas de tramos fluviales y sectores de humedales donde existieran posibilidades o sospechas de nidificación.
