Description
Esta colección contiene un importante volumen del material que compone la sección micológica del herbario TFC de La Universidad de La Laguna, fundado en 1969 en la isla de Tenerife. Los grupos fúngicos mejor representados en esta sección micológica son los Aphyllophorales, Myxomycetes, Agaricales, Ascomycetes y, en menor medida, los Gasteromycetes y otros grupos fúngicos minoritarios. En la actualidad, está compuesto por un total de 22 mil exsiccata aproximadamente, procedentes de diversas partes del mundo, pero principalmente del Archipiélago Canario y se nutre, fundamentalmente, gracias a las aportaciones relacionadas con la elaboración de tesis doctorales y proyectos científicos dirigidos desde en la línea de micología del Área de Botánica del Dpto. de Botánica, Ecología y Fisiología Vegetal de la Universidad de La Laguna.
